Lewis wants to be Cine, not heard

The Vikings selected safety Lewis Cine in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft. The position wasn't a huge need at the time, with Harrison Smith and Cam Bynum holding down the spots at the time. But the Vikings thought Cine was a good fit, and would be utilized greatly in Ed Donatell's defense. In a way, Cine reminds me a lot of future Viking's ring of honor player, Harrison Smith. The all pro defender came out of college with the reputation of a big hitter, as did Cine. Smith was also the #32 pick in the draft, as was Cine. But the most interesting thing I see in common with Smith and Cine is their quiet demeanor. Soft spoken, yet confident. They let their play do the talking, which is the most impressive thing. Cine and Smith aren't only just big hitters, but they play with great instinct.

Cine wasn't always expected to go in the first round, but his pre-draft interviews, his pro day, and combine performance continued to impress scouts and NFL teams. Smith also shot up the draft boards during his pre-draft events. With everything in common with the two defenders, will Smith and Cine have the same career trajectory? Vikings fans can hope.
