Now that the 2022 NFL Draft is over, the Vikings have a better idea of what their roster is going to look like come week one. The Vikings made many moves to upgrade the defense, especially with the selections of Lewis Cine, Andrew Booth Jr., and Brian Asamoah. On paper, the defensive side of the ball feels greatly improved. Offensively, it seems Kevin O’Connell and Kwesi Adofo-Mensah are comfortable with their current personnel. Earlier in the off-season, the Vikings did sign a couple veteran offensive lineman to shore up the trenches. They signed both Jesse Davis and Chris Reed to compete in the interior of the offensive line. In the second round of the draft, the men in purple also selected Ed Ingram out of LSU to compete for a job there as well. The Vikings have made improvements already, but is there any other signings we could see on the horizon?
Kyle Fuller
Fuller is an interesting name to toss around. He’s had a lot of success in the league, and could really help out the youth in the secondary, along with veteran Patrick Peterson. Fuller also has experience with new Vikings defensive coordinator Ed Donatell. This signing wouldn’t cause shock waves, but it would be an effective one to continue to help out a young secondary.
Odell Beckham Jr.
I know this might not be a popular name among Viking fans and he’s coming off a torn ACL. But it kind of makes sense. O’Connell was his offensive coordinator in LA last year, while also winning a super bowl with him. He may not be ready week 1, but he could come in as a cheap option looking to prove himself off of yet another injury.
Akiem Hicks
I know for a fact this signing would make Viking fans very excited. It’s been talked about all off-season on social media and he would make a huge impact in the Vikings run defense and interior pass rush. The Vikings do have a need of depth in their interior defensive line. Could Kwesi pull the trigger and land a former all-pro?
