The long-awaited schedule reveal has come and gone. Now that the dust has settled and the Chargers social media team adds another perennial 'most creative and savage schedule announcement' feather to their cap, we can begin to speculate how each team will fair in 2022.
I would love nothing more than to look at this schedule with violet-tinted glasses
but as Vikings fans know all too well, if something can go wrong it will go
wrong. So let’s take a look at what a REALISTIC game-by-game prediction looks
like.
Wk. 1 vs Green Bay
Predicted outcome: Win
First game of the season is always weird. Both teams trying
to figure out their new identities. Home field advantage big in this one.
Wk. 2 @ Philadelphia
Predicted outcome: Win
Dynamic receiving duo, cornerback room is rested early on.
Vikings pull out an offensive shootout in a one score game.
Wk. 3 vs Detroit
Predicted outcome: Win
Vikings always play down to Detroit’s level, but we pull out
the win at home.
Wk. 4 vs New Orleans
Predicted outcome: Loss
Michael Thomas is back, Jameis throws lots of picks but also
lots of TDs. The UK game hard to predict but they may get the best of us here.
Wk. 5 vs Chicago
Predicted outcome: Win
Who is Fields throwing to?
Wk. 6 @ Miami
Predicted outcome: Win
Underthrows all day long.
Wk. 7 BYE WEEK
Predicted outcome: Rest
Wk. 8 vs Arizona
Predicted outcome: Loss
Hopkins is back after suspension, tough matchup for our
defense.
Wk. 9 @ Washington
Predicted outcome: Win
Carson Wentz? Say less.
Wk. 10 @ Buffalo
Predicted outcome: Loss
Diggs gets his ‘revenge’. Tough defense and a complete
roster. Josh Allen has a day.
Wk. 11 vs Dallas
Predicted outcome: Loss
Explosive offense, CeeDee & Zeke eat. Dak takes over late
to seal it.
Wk. 12 vs New England
Predicted outcome: Win
Bill is always a tough matchup and while this could be a
harsh surprise, I give us the benefit of the doubt at home.
Wk. 13 vs New York Jets
Predicted outcome: Win
It’s the Jets. (Although I do think they’ll bounce back this
year)
Wk. 14 @ Detroit
Predicted outcome: Loss
RE: First game notes – Detroit’s roster improved and we play
them too closely. Mess around with bad teams and bad things happen.
Wk. 15 vs Indianapolis
Predicted outcome: Loss
Matty Ice proves to be the missing piece in Indy.
Wk. 16 vs New York Giants
Predicted outcome: Win
It’s the Giants.
Wk. 17 @ Green Bay
Predicted outcome: Loss
It’s always a close matchup between these teams. We end up
splitting the season series losing a cold game in Green Bay.
Wk. 18 @ Chicago
Predicted outcome: Win
Chicago already eliminated and banged up, win at Soldier
Field as Chicago tries to maintain draft pick position.
Season Record: 10-7 which, barring anything wild, gets this
team into the playoffs in a wild card spot.
